Description

We are seeking a Program Manager with deep digital banking and credit union experience to lead complex transformation initiatives across multiple stakeholders and platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who has led large-scale implementations such as Central1 Forge migrations, Mambu rollouts, Backbase deployments, or multi-credit-union platform transformations.

As Program Manager, you will operate at the Strategy & Governance lens, ensuring alignment, execution discipline, and measurable outcomes.

Who You Are

  • Credit union operating models
  • Digital banking ecosystems (core + middleware + digital platform)
  • Multi-vendor coordination
  • Regulatory and member experience constraints
  • Negotiation techniques, and is capable of resolving high-stakes conflicts between internal teams, external vendors, and client stakeholders.
  • AI collaboration and productivity tools
  • Executive-level stakeholder management

You are calm under pressure, structured in your thinking, and trusted by CIOs, COOs, and CEOs.

You have likely led:

  • Multi-CU implementations (e.g., League Data, Central1 Forge ecosystem)
  • Core + digital banking modernization programs
  • Vendor transitions and RFP-driven platform changes
  • Enterprise digital transformation programs in financial services

What You Will Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

  • Own end-to-end program governance across multiple workstreams
  • Align executive stakeholders around vision, scope, and measurable outcomes
  • Define success criteria and transformation KPIs
  • Overseeing organizational change management (OCM) strategies to ensure high adoption rates among CU staff and members.
  • Manage risk, dependencies, and vendor coordination

Delivery Oversight

  • Establish program structure, milestones, and governance forums
  • Coordinate across Product, Design, Architecture, and Engineering teams
  • Ensure roadmap alignment between the credit union and vendor ecosystems
  • Utilize AI-driven tools to synthesize meeting outcomes, track action items across complex workstreams, and accelerate the creation of executive-level presentations and reports
  • Provide high-level oversight of data migration strategies and middleware integration workstreams to ensure system interoperability.
  • Drive clarity across complex integrations (core, digital banking, middleware, CRM, etc.)

Client Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to CU executives and technology leaders
  • Facilitate steering committees and executive updates
  • Ensure transparency in reporting, budget, and risk mitigation
  • Maintain strong relationships across business and technical stakeholders

Operational Excellence

  • Implement structured program tracking and reporting frameworks
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment across the Four Lenses team
  • Manage complex program budgets, including CAPEX/OPEX tracking, vendor invoicing, and ROI realization.
  • Optimize delivery processes based on lessons learned

Qualification Requirements

Must-Have

  • Located in North, Central, or South America
  • 8+ years leading complex technology programs in financial services
  • 5+ years in digital banking or core modernization initiatives
  • Experience leading large implementations (e.g., Central1 Forge, Mambu, Backbase, Intellect, Fiserv, FIS, Lumin, etc.)
  • Direct experience working with credit unions or community banks
  • Experience managing multi-vendor ecosystems
  • Strong executive communication skills
  • Experience in Agile and hybrid delivery environments
  • Experience navigating regulatory compliance and audit requirements (e.g., OSFI, BCFSA, or SOC2) within a program delivery context.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, budgets, and timelines at scale
  • Strong governance and stakeholder management skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in multi-CU environments (e.g., service bureaus like League Data)
  • PMP, Prince2, or equivalent certification
  • Experience in regulated financial environments
  • Experience using AI productivity suites (e.g., Gemini, Copilot, ChatGPT, or specialized PM tools)
  • Familiarity with digital banking migrations or decommissioning legacy platforms

Education

University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Salary

CAD $120,000 – $160,000 annually. Salary based on experience, scope of leadership, and market data.

Location

AEQ is a remote organization.

  • Canada: Preference for Western Canada, but open nationwide
  • Travel for conferences and client meetings is expected.
